The man's body lay in a fetal position just beyond the gutter. The Pastor couldn't believe it, but the body was actually smoldering. The man's features were unidentifiable. His eyes were two blackened holes where eyes should've been. He appeared to have no ears.
"Please pray for me…" choked the man on the street as smoke rose from his charred body into the pleasant California morning air. But for the flames behind him consuming the little strip mall and rising a hundred feet into the air-it might've been any other Sunday morning. But for some inexplicable reason, the man lying in the street did not choose to bring along his son to the salon this morning as he did every other Sunday.
After the burned man was taken away, the Pastor realized he could not get back to his church. His car was hemmed in by emergency personnel.
"He's going to live!" said a clear concise voice inside his head. He commenced to run all the way to the church where he threw open the door; swiped the perspiration from his brow and spilled his tale to the parishioners gathered there for the Prayer meeting.
"We have to pray for this man," he began. "I only know that his first name is Tony."
So began the coming together of strangers into Tony Yarijanian's life who banded together in the name of Jesus to pray for a miracle.
As Tony Yarijanian lay in a coma, fighting for his life- a series of unexplained coincidences fell into place and put just the right people into Tony Yarijanian 's life when he needed them most. Perhaps even the doctors would agree that the biggest force to intervene was God himself. Tony Yarijanian had a one percent chance for survival when his wife Anahid Yarajanian arrived at the hospital that day. People aren't expected to survive injuries that traumatic.
